The Virgin Nursing the Child 1512 Charcoal, 418 x 288 mm Graphische Sammlung Albertina, Vienna (The sheet is drastically cut at the right and the bottom.) This can scarcely be considered as a preliminary study for a painting; on the contrary, it is an independent drawing par excellence, with a great deal of curly and distinct linear movement.
